Catching Fire is a 2013 American dystopian action film directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy and. Catching Fire is the film adaptation of Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins and the sequel to The Hunger Games. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Jack Quaid. It was released in the United States on November 22, 2013.

The film begins with Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Hemsworth) returning home to District 12 after winning the Hunger Games. However, their victory has put them in the crosshairs of President Snow (Donald Sutherland), who fears their influence on the people of Panem. Snow forces Katniss and Peeta to participate in the Quarter Quell, a special edition of the Hunger Games that takes place every 25 years. The Quarter Quell will be even more dangerous than the previous Games, as it will feature tributes from all of the past winners.

Katniss and Peeta must team up with other tributes in order to survive the Quarter Quell. They form an alliance with Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin), a charming tribute from District 4, and Johanna Mason (Jena Malone), a rebellious tribute from District 7. Together, they must face the challenges of the Quarter Quell and overthrow President Snow.
